Cosplay Contest
We will be hosting a Cosplay Contest with multiple categories at Blitz 2013 on Sunday, June 9th at 5:00 PM. Registration for the cosplay contest at Anime Blitz 2013 will happen at the event during the hours before the contest is to take place. You may also download and fill out a Cosplay Contest form ahead of time from the Forms section of this sitePlease gathered for the contest half an hour before the panel‘s start in order to provide organization and prep time. Please note that each person can enter all three categories that are to be judged, but the same group can not win the group cosplay as well as the skit cosplay in the interest of fairness.
The following are the categories of the contest and the rules for each:
Best Dressed:
- This category is for single cosplays (one person only).
- At least 75% of your costume must be home made, no store bought costumes. This is so that those that worked hard on their costumes can get recognized for their hard work.
- These are just walk ons. Come on the stage pose for a few pictures and walk off.
- You MUST provide a printed picture of your character. We may know a lot of anime and comic books but we don’t know them all and would like to have a reference picture to go off of.
Best Dressed Group:
- This category is for groups of people that are all dressed from the same anime.
- Your costumes can be either home made or store bought, both are allowed for this category.
- Only have one of each character per a group, we don’t want to see two Sebastian’s no matter how sexy he is; poor Ceil is going to get confused. The only exception to this rule is things like shadow clone jutsu.
- Again we would like to have prints of your character as a reference.
- As before this category is just walk ons. You can enter how it would match for your characters to do a group pose for pictures and then head off.
Best Skit:
- This section is for single cosplays or groups.
- You may do dances or a talking skit, anything that doesn’t fall under a walk on falls under this category.
- Our skits have a 4 minute time cap, don’t go over this please.
- We would like you to keep the rating PG 13; Sorry, not everyone enjoys hentai.
- Once again, you can have a store bought or home made costume.
